Tea For Two

It’s as if an interior designer looked inside my head and then created a tea room.

Road-tripping to this gorgeous spot in Newburyport, MA was a no-brainer. We made a whole day of it: walking through the cute town centers and stopping into little antique stores. Still, our time spent at the Garrison Inn and having tea in this stunning tea room (open to hotel guests only) was the highlight of our stay. The boutique hotel goes above and beyond expectations - balancing their rich history with an understanding of today’s chic modern traveler. Think: marbled bathrooms, Bvlgari bath amenities, afternoon teas, and even a fun little lingerie boutique. At the Garrison Inn, they’ve really hit the nail on the head.

I chose to wear this ladylike ensemble for our afternoon tea, but I love that this is actually a two-piece set, which brings a modern element to the whole look. Paired with a puffy pink headband and this stunning YSL bag in the perfect matching-pink hue, I can’t wait to have an excuse to wear this outfit again. Until then, I’ll be dreaming of these baby pink chairs and freshly baked lemon-filled cookies

Newbury Strolls

Blue Velvet Top (@maevestier)

Top c/o & Other Stories | Denim | Boots | Bag c/o Gigi New York

It feels so good to be back in Boston! I spent the last week in sunny & beautiful San Francisco, and while I’m definitely missing the weather, it feels so good to be home. I’ve been spending my afternoon along Newbury Street, one of my all-time favorite spots in Boston. As I write this, I’m sitting in the same place as the photo below: in Cafe Susu, sipping on an oat milk mocha.
This top has been such a fun piece to wear between the burned-out velvet pattern and the balloon sleeves. It’s one of those effortless statement pieces that transitions so well from running errands during the day to grabbing drinks with friends.

Skirting The Issues

Skills include: using Google Maps to find hidden gems in Boston & online shopping for cute midi skirts.

As a tall girl, I can really appreciate a good midi skirt. Don’t get me wrong - there’s nothing I inherently dislike about mini or maxi cuts, but midi skirts fall into that perfect “goldilocks” category. They’re not so long that my legs are completely covered, but not so short that I could feel underdressed. The french tucked (thanks, Tan!) chunky white knit ties everything together effortlessly, and with basic black accessories, the skirt remains the focal point. Given the black & white outfit, I knew that this gorgeous marble staircase (hidden away on the side of the MA State House) would provide the perfect backdrop for photos.

Okay, so I’m not wearing blue velvet, but I can still hear Lana Del Rey playing in my head as I write this blog post. Plus, it’s me - of course I’m wearing pink.
This coat has been one of the BIGGEST hits on my Instagram. I’ve been getting weekly (and sometimes daily) messages asking about it. To answer the most common questions: I’m wearing a size XS (which I thought would be too small - it actually fits perfectly!), it’s the warmest winter coat I own, and you can purchase it here (although online, this color is currently sold out!).

I want to start off by apologizing to those of you who are blog readers - with the holidays and a bunch of travel plans coming up, I’ve really dropped the ball on my blog content. Moving forward, I have a ton of things to post this week (hello, Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals!) and I’ll be keeping you all posted (both here and on Instagram) as I spend the next few weeks traveling.
Can we take a minute to talk about this top? Because I’m obsessed. Everything from the lace pattern to the sleeve shape is so gorgeous, and I really appreciate that this shirt looks so fantastic tucked into a cute pair of jeans. I actually have had to stop myself from over-wearing this (but it’s so tempting to wear it with everything!). It comes in both black and white, and it probably won’t be long before I cave in and get the black version as well.
Looking forward to pairing this with sparkly, festive pieces this holiday!
