How confusing is this in-between season?
Yesterday (Easter!) was about 60 degrees and sunny in Boston - today it's in the 30s/40s and snowing. These few weeks can be the weirdest to dress for, which is why it's the perfect time to talk about my favorite versatile basic: A long-sleeved turtleneck. It might seem like a lot of fuss to do a single blog post on such a simple piece, but I'm going to be showing you three looks to demonstrate how far one top can take you during this weird time between Winter and Spring.
#1. As a focal point
I like to call this look "Steve Jobs chic". Using my black turtleneck sweater as a main part of my look, I've tucked it into high-waisted jeans and added some big gold earrings to create a pretty combination that can tackle a wide range of temperatures.
#2. As a layer
This is a great option when you want to break out a Spring dress or cami but it's still a bit too cold, since turtlenecks act well as a layering piece (and add a cute nod to 90's style). Here, I've styled mine with a midi maroon slip dress.
#3. As a basic
Lastly, a turtleneck can be great to compliment another piece you want to stand out, like a leather skirt (or a statement jacket, like the one I wore with the same sweater here).
