So as you may have noticed, I really like playing with my hair.
I was re-watching some Game of Thrones recently and realized how awesome Daenerys's hair is. Seriously, that girl rocks the braided boho look. I can't get as crazy as she does with her hair (let's face it, not everyone can pull the really intricate looks off), but I was inspired to create a little twisted & braided updo (à la this photo I found on Pinterest). It's super simple and doesn't take much time at all. I decided to photograph mine with wavy hair, but it looks great on straight hair too. Recreate the look by following the steps below!
1. Section off about an inch of hair on one side of your part at the front of your face. Split the section into two pieces and twist them around each other. Pin this section back and then do the same with the other side. Take out any pins and, using a small hair-tie, join the two twisted sections in back.
2. Take two one-inch sections of hair from either side of the hair elastic in back and add any additional hair to the tied-off section to thicken it. Then, braid normally, tying off at the end.
3. At this point, I like to pull apart the braid a bit so it looks thicker and fuller. I do this a little with the two twisted sections as well.
