La Vie En Rose

Pink Midi Dress

Dress | Flats | Bag

A while ago, my sister was telling me about this book she was loving: The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. While I haven't read it yet, the mantra that the book provides has stuck with me ever since my sister told me about it: only keep things if they bring you joy.

Well, this dress definitely brings me joy.

I spotted this dress online and I'm pretty sure it was in my checkout cart in two seconds. I love the little tie-back detail and the ruffled hem, but you all know it's the color that really got me.

Spring blogger style: crochet tops

Top | Denim | Bag | Shoes (now on sale!)

I'm still unpacking from an Easter weekend on the Maine coast (and then repacking for a quick trip to NYC this week), and I'm not even ashamed to say that I have been (and will be) wearing this top on repeat. This lavender crochet top (affordable, from one of my new favorites - Style Mafia via Shopbop) is absolutely perfect for the springtime sun. Since it is a little cropped, I paired it with these high-waisted and perfectly-distressed One Teaspoon jeans and some blush pink accessories. It also looks bomb with some high-waisted denim cutoffs. If you can't get your hands on this specific top, I also love this option and this option for adding a little crochet/eyelet detail to your wardrobe.

Chic This Week 037

Roundup of what's chic this week (Volume 037)

Came across this photo on Pinterest and I've decided that I need this pink fringe jacket. I have six tabs open my laptop trying to hunt for it as I write this.

MAGNETIC LASHES. Holy genius. Where have these been all my life?

I love the look of denim with a slit hem. I think a front slit is chic and looks great with heels, but this side-slit version is cute too.

I'm having such a moment with tie-back tops, so expect to see some pop up on Chic Now this spring/summer.

How could I not include my everyday obsession? Blog, meet Weaver, my new black lab puppy. She's three months old, terrified of my hairdryer, and enjoys trying to eat her leash.

Spring Styling with Lynn Louisa

Lynn Louisa boutique, Georgetown DC

Did you ever have a friend whose closet was always the BEST to raid?

You know the one: they have the best mix of thoughtful basics, standout looks, and those effortless pieces that look amazing dressed up or down. They always have the best new denim or that chic California-cool label.

That friend, for me, is LYNN LOUISA.

Full disclosure: Lynn Louisa isn't exactly an epically styled friend. Tucked into one of Georgetown's main streets, Lynn Louisa is a boutique focused on Scandinavian and West Coast designers and curated to perfection. I stopped into the store a few weeks ago and put together a couple of looks from their new Spring arrivals. Get ready for some serious outfit inspiration.

Top (sold out) | Jeans | Bralette (similar) | Shoes

Outfit #1

Semi-sheer floral goodness meets the perfect pair of dark wash denim? Count me in. Complete with an Anine Bing bralette and paired with some flat black mules, this look is something I would throw on before Sunday brunch with friends.

Outfit #2

This top is so perfect for me it kind of hurts. Tucking it loosely into some dark denim flares gives the whole outfit some more shape, and I couldn't pass up adding this awesome fringe clutch. I could definitely see myself wearing this outfit day-to-day, but it's also interesting enough that I would feel totally comfortable wearing this to a casual local event, like a store opening or blogger happy hour.

Outfit 3

Dress (sold out) | Bralette (similar) | Cardigan

Slip dresses are perfect for transitioning into Spring/Summer and are so versatile. I wanted date night vibes, so I layered this greenish-gold version over an eyelash lace bralette and topped it all off with a loose cardigan worn off-the-shoulder.

Outfit #4

Sweatshirt | Bag | Denim

This "Paris" sweatshirt was too cute to pass up, and you all know I'm a big fan of comfort-meets-style. There's something fitting about a Parisian reference in a chic sweatshirt, since French style is so casually cool. Adding a statement bag dresses up the outfit (plus, how cool is this bag?).

And these are only four examples of my Lynn Louisa favorites.

If you're in the DC area, definitely check out their brick & mortar Georgetown location. For those of you outside of DC, you can shop Lynn Louisa online.

Thank you to Lynn Louisa for letting me "raid your closet"!
